L.E. Modesitt, Jr
Overview
Reviews and Reflection

I have enjoyed reading the first two books in L.E. Modesitt's new Imager's Portfolio. Modesitt is an author I have enjoyed for years. But hey, the first book made me stop and think about a few things and my life. So I decided to review and share some reflections. These will scope to, among other things,
- An brief look at Modesitt and his writings
- A brief introduction to Fantasy and Science Fiction genre
- Review of the books in this series
- Reflections on the books in this series
- Reflections on Human Values in these books
Enjoy
Why Literature, Why read?

We hope you enjoy this site. It is a simple set of pages meant to develop some thoughts further, for literature, as some would say, is not literature if it is not relevant to how you might live, and live better.
There are many colours and many pencils on these pages as the background. Perhaps these colours signify the different sketches of human life, for our lives are a work of art; there are different folks, and perhaps, the colours suggest the different strokes on the human canvas of life.
Just as Rhennthyl learns to be a portraiturist and goes to the Collegium Imago to learn and seek to master his Imaging skill, so also, all men and women are crafting their own path through life; some are seeking wealth and satisfaction, others seek meaning and purpose and perhaps, to arrive at an indefinable peace. Peace from anxiety, grasping, seeking, chasing the ultimate experience which gives lasting meaning to time here on earth, and for some, the time beyond. Modesitt proposes there is the name of a life, and the substance of a life. What is the substance which gives lasting satisfaction?
What is important here? People, or what they do, or the system in which they live?
